Gameplay is similar to the US version, with the following differences:.The top-dollar value always uses a glittery silver space, identical to what the US version would use for its $5,000 space in 1983.The category is displayed on a physical strip above the puzzle board instead of a chyron.

The Wheel itself uses 96 pegs with four for each space. The cash wedges are similarly coloured to the US version, although the Wheel uses green spaces instead of blue ones. The scoreboards use 'seven-segment' displays with five digits and a dollar sign on the left. The first two contestant positions are red and yellow, but the third one is green instead of blue. The centre of the Wheel uses a blue 'dot' with a six-pointed star design instead of a plain green one.The set is designed to resemble the then-current United States set, including a green glittery backdrop and a three-line puzzle board with 13 spaces in each row.The show is taped in Adelaide, South Australia. This is one of the few versions to begin during Chuck Woolery's tenure in the United States. Wheel of Fortune debuts on Seven Network on 21 July 1981, hosted by Ernie Sigley and Adriana Xenides.
